The Simply Natural wrap is exactly that, 100% natural unbleached cotton gauze. The same fabric we use for all Calin Bleu wraps and ring slings. If you opt for the Natural you will find that it behaves slightly differently to the custom dyed ones.
One reason experienced babywearers love it is that it softens very quickly and becomes quite crinkly, and with a wonderful give. It does shrink when you first wash it though so expect to lose about 20cm in length. Bear this in mind when you choose your size.
A popular reason for choosing Natural is that it's a great light colour for summer and if you have a baby that spits up a lot then this is the perfect choice!
Apart from practical reasons you may like to get creative with your wrap. Dye it any colour or colours you wish!
Many mums have tye dyed their wraps which look amazing and others have used store bought dyes like Dylon to get the colour they want.
The dye absorbs really well on this fabric so have fun and do share your creations with us!
I mixed a few Dylon dyes to experiment when I was choosing new colours. They are very vibrant, but a little goes a long way so you could get a much softer effect too.
You should wash it as soon as you get it and once dry it'll be ready to use. Our wraps are the same width throughout its length but the ends are cut on a diagonal which you'll find makes it less bulky and easier to tie.
We have 4 sizes to choose from. Most people wear a size 6 i.e. Medium which is 4.6m long but if you are very tall or over a size 16 then go for a size 7, i.e. Long and 5.2m. X Long is ideal if you need a bit more length for fancy finishes or for size 20+. Choose Short which is 3.2m only if you know how to use a shortie wrap, or want to learn!
All Calin Bleu wraps are made in the UK and are safety tested and comply with the BS EN 13209-2:2005 baby carrier safety standard for the UK and Europe.
Use it to safely and comfortably carry your baby or toddler on the front, hip or back from 3.5kg to 15kg or 7lbs to 33lbs. That's about the weight of a newborn to a 2 or 3 year old.
A detailed instruction booklet will come with your wrap so you'll know exactly how to use it.
